We were so happy to make our delivery!
Thanks to help from the community, we were able to bring 13 Valentine’s Day Care Packages to kids on the Oncology floor at Oishei Children’s Hospital. Each child in the floor was given a care package filled with toys, stuffed animals, blankets, crafts, coloring supplies, legos and more! The little patients ranged in age from 5 months to 13-years old. Many were in isolation but the ones we did get to meet with were so sweet with huge smiles.
Each child was also given a few handmade Valentines from first grade students at Williamsville East Elementary School. The kids in Mrs. Marchetta’s class were kind enough to make the beautiful cards for us to bring along!
We took just a few photos to share!
We were also able to stock the parent/patient lounge on the floor. The cupboards were EMPTY when we arrived and we filled them up. In fact, we had some food and juice boxes leftover – enough to bring to other floors on the hospital as well! After talking with hospital staff, we learned this is a real issue so we would love to bring them food and snacks at least once a month. We will have an ongoing Amazon Wish list if you would like to donate a snack – HERE IS A LINK.
Of course, we couldn’t visit the hospital without bringing a treat for the hard working nurses, doctors, and other staff members to enjoy as well.
It was truly our pleasure to make the delivery and we want to thank anyone who donated for their support!!
Happy Valentine’s Day!!
